When I was a kid, I wondered how the instructions got on the cereal box. We had Quaker Oats every day, and the instructions and ingredients were in both English and French.

Here I am a few decades later, and I still read the instructions. It’s in part because I’m anxious and am convinced if we leave the toaster plugged in we’ll burn the house down. But really, I find it kind of fascinating that they really explain how things work (when written well) and are hilarious when they’re written badly (except when you really need them). Here’s my collection of all the instructions I’ve ever kept. Add your favourites to my Twitter feed @ThisEndUp5, and tell us why you loved or hated them!
