Can you imagine your city without its vibrant main street for shopping or meeting friends, popping into the library or nail salon, or joining a local festival …?! I can’t! And yet we’re seeing the decline of these places in communities of all sizes across Canada. With COVID-19, our main streets are struggling. I was delighted to be a part of CUI’s cross-Canada campaign to Bring Back Main Streets. The Action Plan is chock-full of great ideas for all stakeholders – from governments to local residents – to support these community hubs and job-creating districts that will get us through these tough times.
